The Ultimate Bike Light

Our launch product is the BLAZE Bike Light, a beautifully designed, high quality, front light… But we don’t stop there!

The BLAZE Bike Light, in addition to super-bright LEDs, also has a unique projection feature. It projects the symbol of a bike down onto the road, ahead of the cyclist. It is adjustable, but ideally 4-6m in front, increasing the bike’s footprint and visibility on the roads.

A striking warning image of a bike is seen on the ground ahead of the cyclists’ current position. Thereby highlighting the passage of a cyclist through heavy traffic or along dark city roads and alerting fellow road users to their presence before its too late.

We hope through increasing the footprint and visibility of cyclists on city roads, the BLAZE Bike Light will go some way to tackling two serious causes of cycling fatalities – being caught in the blind spot, or vehicles turning across an unseen cyclist.

	Performance Blimmin’ bright! Our super bright LED chucks out 80 lumens, whilst still remaining super efficient at 90 lumens/watt.		Run Time Keep on riding for up to 8 hours with both the LED and laser on.Wanna go further?! Switch to flashing mode for a full 12 hours!
	Battery A single 1500mAh rechargeable lithium-polymer cell. Easily accessible and replaceable, if it should ever need to be.		USB Charging You asked for it! No more bulky chargers or wires to carry!
	Weight At just 200g, it has a reassuring weight of quality but its not going to slow you down either.		Dimensions Under 110mm in length and 30mm diameter, its not going to clutter up your bars.
	Casing Material Machined aluminium external housing, beautifully finished with an acid etched stainless steel control panel.		Waterproof We’re from the UK, we’ve got this! All the seals and material selection are in place to keep the internals safe.
	Modes Both the LED and laser module can be operated independently and feature constant and energy efficient blinking modes.		Smart Controls Magnetic switch ensures the laser can only be operated in the bracket, safety first and saves your battery if it comes on in your backpack*Don’t worry! The LED can still be used out of the bracket on dim mode, for when you’ve lost your keys!

FAQ’s

IS IT VISIBLE IN DAYLIGHT?

The projection is definitely visible in daylight, but BLAZE is designed for use in low light and at night, when you’d normally use your lights!  – The majority of cycle accidents occur in commuting hours, which in the UK are in ‘low light’ for over half the year!

HOW LONG WILL THE BATTERY LAST?

We will be using rechargeable lithium cells that with both the light and projection on ‘constant’ will last around 5-6 hours.  Meaning a cyclist commuting an hour a day will need to charge it once a week at the most.  On “flashing” mode they will last much, much longer!  More detailed specs coming…

WHY DOES IT PROJECT IN GREEN?

The BLAZE Bike Light projects in green to increase its visibility as the human eye is most sensitive to light of this colour.  See our article in the blog on this for more information.

HOW CAN I PURCHASE A BLAZE BIKE LIGHT?

BLAZE General Release In short the bad news is that the BLAZE bike light will not be available until Autumn 2013. The good news is it will be accompanied by a wider range of BLAZE lights and yes that will include a rear light! Distribution is likely to be through stores (UK) and through our own online store (Internationally). Why the wait? Following our Kickstarter campaign we are focusing on fulfilling the initial order batch, ensuring components are well sourced, manufacturing processes are refined and quality assured, whilst developing a greater range of BLAZE products.
